The Wilks family of Cisco, Texas, New York hedge fund tycoon Bob Mercer, Texas energy investor Toby Neugebauer and Illinois manufacturing moguls Dick and Liz Uihlein.

And how are these people worse for the country than Trump, who has been bragging about all the special favoritism he's purchased from politicians over the years?

If suddenly, Bob Mercer decided he was going to become a politician instead of buying a politician, would he suddenly be above the buying and selling of politicians and be viewed as a noble rich man out to save the country?

Honestly, the logic of saving some rich guy the expense of buying politicians by giving him the political office still only looks beneficial to the billionaire, not to me and not to my country.

Reminds me of the blind faith of Obama supporters.

It’s exactly the same blind faith......and that same faith is drawing the Obama voters to Trump...they just want the ride and thrills and will put their cart behind any parade to give them that.....we have our own as well as FR shows.

I too attend Calvary Chapel. Very good teaching church.

I will note, when reading through the posts almost every pro Trump post is bitter, angry, attacking, accusing.

I think that, deep down, the people that support Trump really do know he’s not our guy; he is not conservative and he’s a loose cannon but they’re angry too so they’re waving his flag. We’re all angry at what’s been happening to our nation. But we’re going right back to a guy making high falutin’ promises without an ounce of conviction for our cause, in the case of Trump.

I don't recognize my small town in SC anymore where now half the people in it don't speak English, and this has happened all in the last 15 years

When you described your town in SC, it seemed as if you were talking about my home town in Texas. When Mr. Trump initially announced and took his hard line on immigration, I was skeptical but very pleased that he was willing to take the heat. Just about the time I got over my skepticism and decided I would support him, he slipped in the new provision that we would bring the good ones back.

He hasn't defined who he considers a "good one" but whoever they are, his policy now seems to be that they could just go home for the weekend, pick up a permit and return with all the rights of a legal immigrant. Ironically, his policy now seems to be more liberal than the McCain policy of having them pay a fine and back taxes and then receive legal status. Despite this significant change, he is still being given credit for his original hard line stand.

Being almost a "single issue voter" on the question of immigration, Mr. Trump's waffling on this issue has caused my to look at other aspects of his candidacy that I had previously been willing to overlook. He seems to be very thin skinned and exhibits a disturbing sense of entitlement. As angry as I am about the betrayal by the political establishment, I am not totally convinced that Mr. Trump is the alternative. He, along with many of his most ardent supporters, need to understand that you can't bully or insult detractors into becoming supporters. In any event, I appreciate your post and sympathize with you for the loss of the hometown you once had.

the way to bring those jobs back is to radically change the tax system, something trump is NOT willing to do (that i’ve heard) and something that Cruz IS willing to do.

that is the answer to all these unemployed people. It is NOT punishing companies that move overseas. They’re not doing it because they hate America; they’re doing it for their shareholders, which is their obligation, because the tax burden (and unions) are crippling companies.

Trump exudes belligerence, narcissism, and derision. He is nothing but a carnival barking reality television star who has duped the voting populous with one liners and insults.
If we were electing a national court jester, he'd have my vote.

You people just don't have a clue, or don't care...You seem to think a Cruz, a Rubio or a Bush in office will bring the country right back on track...

We have U.N. troops training and stationed in the U.S...We are being over run with muzlim terrorists by the thousands...We are basically bankrupt and your 'conservatives' are pushing to bring in more welfare lovin' illegal aliens...Our manufacturing jobs are all but gone, another large one packing up last week...

Obama and the conservatives you love are doing their best to get into a direct war with Russia in Syria...Obama's most recent EO gives him the power to use American AND U.N. troops on American citizens...

N. Korea just claimed they are going to do a whole bunch more ballistic missile tests...

What does it take for you guys to wake up??? Trump is the ONLY one who even talks about this stuff...

If those things don't matter to you guys, what in the world does???

I won't speak for Jim Robinson whom some of you are disparaging for turning this site into a liberal haven but to my knowledge Free Republic was based on a Constitutional based country and A FREE REPUBLIC...NOT a GOPe Republican gov't where every Tom, Dick, and Harry calls himself a conservative...

-— I thought the idea was to win them over to conservatism, not to abandon our beliefs just to get them to vote for our guy -—

Trump uber alles.

I don’t understand his appeal at all.

I support Ted Cruz, but would vote for Trump. My fear is that Trump is on a mission to win the nomination and then fumble. Trump comes across as such a big ass that I find it hard to believe that he has the support he has.

Because we know the dire straights we are in and Trump is the only one who offers a way out...The others including Cruz offer nothing...Absolutely nothing...Just onward thru the fog into the New World Order...The One World Gov't where the United Nations is in charge and there is no longer a United States but a North American Union...

-— I know women who have used their services, and not for abortion reasons -—

And they have one bank account for abortions and one bank account for condoms, right?

Please.

Either Trump doesn’t understand business or he’s lying.

When tax payer funds foes to an organization that performs abortion, that is a mandated subsidizing of abortion, period. Fund women’s health organizations that provide needed health services, not the murder of the unborn.
