The driver was transported to the hospital and was pronounced dead. According to witnesses, the driver proceeded east bound through the intersection of Pennsylvania Avenue and Westmoreland Drive at a high rate of speed.
After traveling through the intersection, the driver drove through the parking lot of Appalachian Tire Warehouse and then crashed into the Elk River.At this time there is no foul play suspected.
