To: Protect the Bill of Rights

Its only a matter of time, Cruz and Trump have to come to a head soon.. as long as the establishment is fractured, they both can keep the status quo, but they both know, that with their combined totals likely being no more maximum than 55-60% of the vote in the best case, that if one of them doesn’t get knocked out and the establishment settles on a candidate, neither one of them are likely to win.

And as much as it excites most of us here, eventually the establishment is going to settle around a candidate.. Out of Iowa, it looked like Rubio was the most likely candidate, after NH, and Rubio’s self inflicted gunshot wound to the head, it looks honestly like Bush is the most likely candidate for this. I doubt Kasich can leverage NH into a sustained effort, not taking away his hard work at retail politics that helped him win NH, just don’t think he’s going to be much of a factor going forward.

And once an establishment candidate emerges, Trump nor Cruz will be able to win consistently as long as the other is still viable. The showdown is coming... and it’ll be a doozy.

Your post will most probably be ignored by nearly everyone, but you've made a very salient point. The establishment is not foolish, and they've been around for a long long while and know all the intricacies of the great game (and it is a game). It's also why Jeb is not particularly worried, and why his focus has largely been on Rubio (and going forward, Kasich). He knows that as long as he survives as the Establishment Candidate, then he has a high chance of being the Republican nominee. Once the EC is chosen, then you will have the entire establishment coalescing around one person, while Conservatives/outsiders split between Trump and Cruz.

Basically, a repeat of Romney vs Gingrich/Santorum, where the combo of Gingrich/Santorum had double the votes of Romney, but because they were split Romney kept slightly winning primaries. That is what will happen, because once the EC is selected (be it Bush or Rubio or Kasich ...definitely one of the first two), you'll still have Trump and Cruz grinding against each other.

Just look at FR. The Trump vs Cruz war here is nasty and stupid and self-defeating, but the foolish oafs on both sides of that debate do NOT see that.

You want to know what's ironic? The same (silly) people fueling that war are the SAME ones who fueled the Santorum vs Gingrich war. Same same people, particularly the Santorum/Cruz camp (the Gingrich/Trump camp has some new members, but the Santorum/Cruz camp is the same people).

Anyway, this is why Bush is focusing on Rubio (and soon, Kasich). He knows once he's elected/selected as the EC, and as long as Trump/Cruz kill each other, he has the same chance Romney had in 2012.

And of course, he knows he can count on the Unelected Delegates (our version of Super Delegates) to support the Establishment Candidate. There is NO WAY the Unelected Delegates will support someone like Trump or Cruz (definitely not Cruz, who they hate more than Trump amazingly).

It may seem impossible after the Cruz win in Iowa and Trump's win in New Hampshire, but the Establishment still have a big chance of getting their nominee (whomever it will be) as the GOP nominee.

Now, back to your scheduled programming. Silly Cruz and silly Trump supporters trading barbs.

Idiots the lot!
