I’d like to see “Primary Election Day” just like the General Election. Get it all over with in 1 day. Everyone on the ballot, the nominees emerge. Why not? In, NJ where I live, this process is just a fun hobby since by the time we hold our primary, the nominees will basically be decided. It’s almost a waste of state money to do it at that point.
YES!!!ALL primaries on ONE day.
The only problem I have with that, is candidates with little funds can’t compete. Are we really ready to have only billionaires and establishment anointeds run for President?
If we had all on one day for Primary, why not just make it General Election Day and skip all the advertising money?
It still helps to have something like three groups of Primaries 19 states in each. That way there would be some good ‘tug-o-war’ time between Primaries for the better candidate to rise to the top before convention. Or a taper up set beginning with 6, then 12, and 32 to leave just a bit of carnival in it.
Anyone can vote in either Party’s Primary, but pass a rule that you are stuck in that Primary for the next election. General still good with free-for-all.
Conventions? From a day when there was no rapid communications. Keep em for Tradition.
