He’s apparently the anti-Iverson.
Hmm...Marshawn is no dummy. More power to him. I think I might be able to retire on $49 million...
He does radio commercials for a local plumbing company in Seattle.
A lot of rookies, I hear, drop a half a million on jewelry before playing their first NFL game.
Richard Sherman is another interesting person. Grew up in Compton, with a mother and father who rewarded him for good grades. He has a photographic memory and an MBA from Stamford (I think that’s the right college). He made the league minimum when he was drafted and now makes bank on endorsements. He’s cocky, yeah, but I think a good portion of that is an act, and he also is one of the few black people to actually come out and say that black on black crime is a big issue that the black community needs to take care of.
$50M will buy a lot of Skittles!
Go Bears!
I am happy to hear that. I am now a fan.
Same thing with Gronk in New England....has not touched team paychecks.
Good for him.
One or two season of that kind of money will last for many generations of little Marshawns. And who says these guys are idiots.
“Beastmode”
Careful there - he has that Trademarked. Along with “I’m just here so I won’t get fined.”
He just opened up a store in Oakland selling all sorts of his stuff. He’s quite the marketer. Sound’s like he is spending all of the advertising and sales money - ‘cuz he does have a lot of nice stuff.
I was just telling my daughter how there was a Vikings player that lived in a house the next block over from me growing up. It was a much nicer house than ours, but nothing out of the ordinary like you see with the players of today. I saw something on the net, and Lynch has a real nice house on the bay - looks like it is out on a big dock/pier with nice boats parked below.
I’m not sure I would ever use the word “thrifty” to describe Lynch!
I’m thinking his playing days are probably over - he sure was fun to watch!
He’s also saying he’s retiring.
Smart guy!
Have to give him credit for being smarter than he seems when he talks.
I worked with a guy who knew Lawrence Phillips. He and a buddy went to St. Louis and I remember my buddy saying he had a big screen TV and top of the line stereo in every room.
Later they went to the airport and picked up some model that Lawrence flew in. After a couple hours and realizing Lawrence was hanging out with his buddies, she demanded he take her back to the airport where he bought her a first class ticket back to New York.
