Right. If men are required to register, women should be required to register. I liked the way Christie framed his answer.

This doesn’t mean that women should be placed in the frontlines in combat positions.

That’s the classic feminist position, from way back. Sad to see that radical feminism has won out over so many modern “conservatives”

I know that my position is not the mainstream Republican position, but here it is.

Yes. Women should be required to register, same as men.

I know the arguments about sending our daughters to war... but I don't think it would be one bit easier to send my son.

Extending this line of thought, while I would certainly support deferments for young mothers, I have to point out that it is also damaging to separate a young child from his father. Separating a mother from her child should be no more abhorrent than separating a father.

The mother is not the only important parent in a child's life.

At this stage of our history and considering technical advancements, a draft would indicate an "all hands on deck!" crisis threatening our very existence.

And if we're not facing that type of emergency, then NO DRAFT for anyone.
