That soil is the result of years of adding compost and old potting soil and dried steer manure. The downer is we are surrounded by fast growing Redwood trees and their roots strip all the goodies out of the soil plus they now shade the garden a hour or two longer. I’m 82 and getting tired physically and mentally but my young bride (75) doesn’t believe me.
that’s what I do....leaves,soil from potted plants, manure..anything that will add to the soil...
