I never even implied that so don’t be silly. I merely said he paid his own way unlike Obamas or Clintons. Although super PAC are bad in my opinion. I think individuals should contribute to their candidates as individuals don’t have strong arm lobbyists to demand favors.
The lobbyists/establishment is telling you who they fear. It’s not Trump or Rubio.
The fear Ted Cruz Dole and Jimmy Carter spilled the beans with their Cruz, Trump comments. 2 establishment fossils different parties same conclusion.
BINGO!
“But itâs also not true that he is fully self-funding his campaign.”
OK lets put that one to bed so you can go think something else up.
At 95% of his rallies Trump says he is self funding except for the small donations individuals send in which would cost more to return and probably insult people. But of course you already knew that. :-)
Thanks for playing.
If it was really "the small donations individuals send in which would cost more to return and probably insult people," then why does Trump have a donations page, which is prominently featured on his website?
The fact is, he is actively soliciting donations--which represent a small, though significant portion of his total campaign revenues, and which he can use to pay himself back for loans made to the campaign.
Beat cha
Where would the secret service sleep?
Trump has said many times that you do not need to send him donations but instead people are mailing envelopes to him with cash and checks and they were sending to any and all addresses. He probably has had to finally put a donation button on his website.
The facts are:
1. Trump has repeatedly said publicly that he does not need donations.
2. It would be too much trouble to send it back
3. So what if he does keep the money?
4. A few million dollars is a miniscule fraction of the
money Trump will have to spend to get into the WH.
Grasp at some other straw. This is a non starter.
I doubt Secret Service would go for that one.
The donation button has been on his website since he announced his candidacy.
Again, there's nothing wrong with him accepting donations. Every candidate does so. But don't pretend that he's not soliciting them. And don't pretend that he's fully self-funded. According to his FEC filings, he has received roughly 6 million dollars in donations so far, and has spent about 12 million dollars. In other words, contributions have funded about half of his campaign expenditures.
Once again, I'll leave it to you to decide whether you think it's misleading for him to represent that he's self-funded when half of his expenditures are funded by outside contributions.
Same thing can be said of Cruz with a couple points difference!
He has the highest unfavorables, meaning his upside is severely limited. The other candidates have much greater upside as they have much higher favorables.
In the end it will come down to Cruz and Rubio and Trump. Unfortunately, Rubio’s strategy is quite sound, 3-2-1. Third in Iowa, 2nd in NH and 1st in SC. He took 3rd in Iowa. He is now at 2nd in most polls in NH and will get the Christy, Kasich and Bush supporters when they drop out heading into SC.
The SEC will be a three man race with each candidate sharing about a third of the electorate. Trump’s support is dipping slightly so if he underperformed in NH it will be a Cruz/Rubio fight to the end.
When you repeatedly publicly tell people they don’t need to send you money you are not actively soliciting money.
How many times have you heard Teddy say that? Give me a break. He’s a stalker. Mr. GG2 has had to try to block him from email emergency pleadings. LOL!
He has repeatedly declared that he would not refuse the small campaign donors because they want to have a part in election, but he accepts no pac money or large donations from those seeking to purchase influence.
It is disingenuous of you to try and say he conceals his fund raising, because he has always been up front about the small donations and why he accepts them because they are nor seeking to purchase influence, they just want to participate in the election.
The other campaign(s) will now call everyone and tell them the man who has campaigned all over the country, sometimes twice or three times a day for the past 7 months just isn’t up to the job! Because they are so, you know, young and smart and all.
Amen, amen, AuntB.
Will be sending in another donation. Thanks for the reminder :)
When you repeatedly say that you are self-funding and people don't need to send you donations, and at the same time set up a fundraising page and actively solicit donations, you may be accused of speaking out of both sides of your mouth.
Actually he is billing his campaign.
Actually, you have to. Pesky FEC rules, and all.
Get lost. We’re not interested in the drivel you’re peddling, on this thread.
Don’t you have a denial thread about false campaign tweets to hang out on?
So sad that the deniers of proven TweetGate can’t stay on threads that extol all of the glorious virtues of their (busTED) candidate....and they feel compelled to jump on Trump Rally threads.
I guess they can only handle so much misery ;-)
