Is this a shock to anyone? Tomorrow it’s not gonna be how Cruz won Iowa, but how Rubio came from nowhere to nearly come in second. Rubio is going to be proclaimed the big winner tonight. Trump got egg in his face and Cruz got a much needed victory. One state down and forty nine to go. No one should get too giddy or too upset about tonight’s result. A long way to go till Cleveland in July.

Happy Cruz won, but loving that Trump is bashing Hillary in his speech.

Rubio is the establishment favorite now. Bush is their first choice, but they are settling for Rubio and actively pushing him.

Got a report from somebody who attended a caucus. This might not mean much but she said she spoke with several young men there, and they said they were registered Democrats but now registered as Republicans to vote for Rubio. She also thought they were gay.

She had earlier told me that he received about every other day a glossy flier in the mail from Rubio that were quite effective. Rubio also had TV ads. She said she never received a mailing from Trump, but several from Cruz and Bush.

In eight days the New Hampshire election will wipe the smug off their faces.

Yes and as both Presidents Huckabee and Santorum will tell you wining Iowa is absolutely vital to wining the GOP Nomination.

That’s how it works, it’s more important to do better than expected than to win.

Rubio is legitimately a big story because he beat expectations. Trump is a huge loser because he lost on expectations. Cruz is also a winner, not as large in the media's mind as Rubio, because he beat expectations.

I have opposed Rubio from the beginning because of his stance on immigration, but I think we have to be fair to Fox. They are behaving as the media always behaves and one cannot ascribe their reaction to Rubio beating expectations as out of the norm.

By the way, compare Rubio's speech to Trump's halfhearted effort now on the Fox screen. Rubio is obviously light-years ahead of Trump in histrionic ability. Trump had really better watch out in New Hampshire, Rubio is a big threat to him now and I expect the Trump supporters to divert some of their venom away from Ted Cruz toward Marco Rubio.

Fox spin is "Rubio WON" finishing third, "Trump LOST" finishing second and, er, the less said about Ted Cruz the better.

A perfect summation.

It was like a prayer come true for the establishment with Rubio’s strong showing tonight. We can’t ignore this because I’m afraid Rubio is going to be strenghtened by tonight, and it doesn’t bode well going forward. Don’t dismiss this guy folks because the establishment is gonna dig in and do whatever they can to get Marco on the stage the final night in Cleveland to accept the Republican nomination.

Does that mean the Democrats did an Operation Chaos on us in Iowa? Looks like it.

I’m watching a DVD of “Hatari” with John Wayne and Red Buttons...

Time well spent when there is nothing else to do but await the coming storm.
