A few years ago (2007), they revived
Grease on Broadway. They had an "American Idol"-style competition to cast Danny and Sandy. The girl who won Sandy was Laura Osnes, and she was terrific. She's had a good Broadway career since.
Grease Live! was good, and I like the trend towards musicals on TV.
