OR, they have finally realized that they are on the hook for TRILLIONS of dollars in long-term environmental liability from the Mercury poisoning and landfill contaminations that are sure to come?
good job all of us horders of incandescents.
Good. LEDs work just fine without being toxic hazards. I’m replacing all my lights with LEDs as I run out of replacement incandescents, and like the notion of “never have to replace it again” (just don’t get the _cheapest_ you can find; the GE ones don’t cost much more but I’ve had zero problems with them).
Now if I could just find an LED drop-in replacement for fluorescent tubes.
Now we can pay $8 a bulb instead of getting a 4 pack of incandescents for a $1.99
LEDs Rock!
No brainer, LEDs are way better.
CFL’s are, were and always will be overpriced JUNK.
LED’s are better, but the light is insanely bright white, with no warmth, and you only get light emitting in about 1 hemisphere.
Incandescent is still the cheapest and best lighting overall IMHO... but of course its virtually illegal.
Hopefully they LED issues can be resolved, compacted and not so sterile of a light color.
Another LED testimonial. Transition is complete except for some remaining 65 Watt floods that will be gone by summer. I won’t be going back.
Works for me. I have been slowly changing everything over to LEDs as my old bulbs give up the ghost.
This reminds me I need to visit my storage facility for another box of 75 watt incandescents...
End the Obama Bulb era! Long live LEDs!!
I put CFLs in the brooder and all my chicks froze to death.
