Trump Goes All 'Alinsky' on Ted Cruz, Calling Him 'An Anchor Baby'
PJmedia ^ | January 30, 2016 | MICHAEL VAN DER GALIEN

If Donald Trump wants to make sure no Ted Cruz supporter will ever vote for him, he's doing a terrific job of it. How else to explain his most recent insult calling Cruz "an anchor baby in Canada"?

This is pure insanity... and it's an entirely different kind of attack than what we're used to in politics, especially because it involves two people from the same party...

The case will be made I have just contradicted everything I have posted, but hey....sometimes you have to fight a bully by being a bully.

Trump knows no one will challenge him the same way he challenges others.

If unchecked, this is how he will pick off the other candidates. One by one

I fail to see how this is derogatory...

I fail to see how it is relevant. If it's not relevant, it's got to be intended as an insult.

It comes across as desperate and churlish. But then if that's not Trump, I don't know what is. He's coming to the end of his rope. Ultimately, Trump's a loser. Two months from now, I don't know who'll be on top. I only know it won't be Trump.

Interesting how pit bull Trump has latched onto “natural born citizen” which was written at a time when nearly everyone traveled no more that 50 - 100 miles from their place of birth. Now someone can be born on US soil in the morning and be in China by afternoon. I hardly think that the physical place of one’s birth dictates their lifetime principles anymore. A person’s character is more important than the physical location where their bottom was first slapped.

I like many of the things Trump says but there is a dark corner of his brain that is immature and spooky.

Either trumps a liar or people here who says Cruz is not legal is a liar. Trump said before millions of people that he had lots of lawyers all over whether Cruz is eligible and they All said Cruz was ok.

Many people. (here and other places), are or were like me, preferring Cruz but were perfectly acceptable to go for Trump, if it came time to vote should Cruz not make it.

I now look back at that thinking and realize that for me, moving seamlessly to Trump, should the time come, to place my vote for Trump (the guy I first enjoyed, hearing speak to bash political correctness and tease the wossie establishment GOP, even if rudely and crudely, especially to those who swarm in around election time whipping any conservative manliness out of our candidates!)

That time has come and gone, however, now as I realize that Trump wasn't just speaking "truth to power" and challenging the political power inside the GOP.

I also realize Trump's rude, rough and sarcastic manner wasn't merely directed at the media, the liberals, the stodgy guys insisting on picking our candidates for us.

He wasn't content just to brag about his wealth, his education, his intellect, his wealthy lifestyle, his ideas (no matter how mercurial and changeable on a dime), to brag about his ideas being not only correct but far superior to anyone else at any time, to boast about how great, beautiful and far superior all of his wives have been, and on that topic, now bragging, not merely admitting to sexual "indiscretions" have been with "beautiful, accomplished, successful and happily married his many adulterous affairs have been (one assumes that extends to his virility and sexually superiority he is), while extolling us with his great relationship with God and what a great Christian he is, not ever needing to feel ashamed over anything he's ever done because he and God are so close!

If this weren't enough, he goes after his opponents not satisfied with attacking them on policy or past voting records but also making fun of their physical characteristics, looks (Carly Fiorina), intelligence, accomplishments, family members, etc.

We've lived through many bad Presidents before, many dishonest charlatans, many adulterers many non-Christians, many incompetents, many hypocritical destructive boobs but I was never put to the test to vote for the "lesser of two evils."

Plus, can you imagine what the libs are going to do to Trump if he makes it to the general! This is just the beginning...we already know all the other stuff they could have put into the following “debate” if they wanted to devote a little more time to it:

Is Cruz an Anchor baby in Canada? I think the answer is yes...

Next question...If Cruz is not desperate then why would he send this shaming letter out from his official campaign? I think everyone on this forum would like to know? http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3390550/posts

I don’t care about Cruz’s eligibility. That’s out of my hands, and it really doesn’t matter to me. But the fact that the questions remains alive out in the ether is a problem for Cruz, and if Trump wants to bring it up, that’s up to him.

but I do care a lot about Cruz’s despicable behavior in Iowa. I don’t intend to support Cruz any longer after that voter shaming crapola.

I’m not defending Trump. He says thing that makes us wince, but IMHO it’s about time. We’ve been taking this kind of thing from the other side for years. It’s about time we get someone who has courage, confidence and is not politically correct 24/7 like the rest of us.

Cruz is not presidential. Good debater. Some really great ideas that I fully would like to see Trump endorse...but I would follow him into Piggly Wiggly for a sale on Idaho potatoes let alone battle.

You’re wasting your time. These people will sit home or vote for Hillary or Bernie before they’d vote for Trump

This in no way is an endorsement of any candidate!

It is calling Trump out for what he really is, not in any way casting aspersions on anyone who chooses him to be their candidate!

Trump supporters here and elsewhere refuse to look closely at the man by his own words and deeds and actions in the past!

Most of us here understand the desperation of turning our country around, out shouting our "betters" in DC and NYC!

We're also disgusted and frustrated at being called bigots and racists for not wanting to turn our streets over to may racing black and Mexican gangs, now to Muslims desiring to kill us all, while emasculating our police forces, being held hostage by a Department of Justice refusing looking the other way at black crime but attempting to completely disarm us so that we ourselves, are helpless to defend ourselves after our police give up trying to create law and order!

I'm convinced now more than ever, Obama hopes to encite a race war to give himself total power but in no way is Trump the "savior" we need in these desperate times.

I'm not willing to replace one narcissist egomaniacal tyrant lusting for power to reshape us in his own vision of America with another!

Hell yeah, it does. If AMERICAN law confers citizenship on a baby born ANYWHERE to an American parent, it doesn’t matter what Canadian, or Ugandan law says. Show me a case where an American baby born elsewhere was ever denied US citizenship, save for that parent’s renunciation of her American citizenship.

People should look closely at ALL candidates, and that includes Ted Cruz - the fake. Trump’s life is an open book - unlike some candidaates who choose to have some or all of their records sealed. (hit: Obama and Cruz). Your pathetic attempt to sway Trump supporters is just that -pathetic.

Cruz was about 3 years old when he was taken to the US. He grew up in the US and always considered himself an American. He never felt any loyalty to Canada or tried to use his Canadian birth to get any rights in Canada. He may not have been aware of his dual citizenship until shortly before he renounced any claim to Canadian citizenship.

The charge that he was an anchor baby in Canada is nonsensical. His mother was residing legally in Canada--she wasn't using her baby as a tactic to be allowed to stay in Canada.

Did John McCain ever renounce his Panamanian citizenship? He was born in Panama.

I don’t think the people who talk about this have a brain in their heads. OR, they are hoping that enough chumps out there don’t have brains in theirs.

We are of course talking about an undefined term that appears in the constitution for political purposes. My thinking is guided by the political situation in 1787. The Convention devised an office that was unique at the time. The holder of that office would not be a sovereign but a chief magistrate who might have been called a governor-general. He would be George Washington and he would not be a foreign prince. Those were two effective ways of avoiding the establishment of a monarchy to succeed that of George III.
That he had refused to act the part of Cromwell and that he had no natural heirs more or less sealed the deal.
