If you knew anything about him, which you don’t, you wouldn’t assume suicide.
Did you know him? I'm simply going by LaVoy’s own words prior to this incident.
Listening to multiple videos of LaVoy speaking, he seemed very metered and controlled. During the video, he was out of the vehicle within seconds.
Walking through the snow embankment hands in the air. He then began to whirl around when he noticed an officer coming from the treeline. He reached into his coat once, turned, reached in his coat once again.
This was plain as day. They also removed a 9mm from his jacket after he'd fallen dead. They attempted to blow the roadblock, became stuck in the snowbank, nearly hitting an officer.
At this point, there is no where to go. You are not going to get away. Any rash movements will likely get a person shot. Why would he jump from the vehicle suddenly? Why would he even give an impression of reaching in his jacket...twice?
Come on. LaVoy was determined not to be taken to jail. Can't blame him. If you were used to the open country, accustomed to that free lifestyle...would you want to sit in a cell for YEARS...dreaming of the life you once led?
Nope.
