The Supplicant: Stop Smearing Megyn! Ailes Refuses Donation to Veterans, tells CNN.....
Breitbart ^ | Jan 28 2015

Roger Ailes had three brief conversations with Donald Trump today about possibly appearing at the debate – there were not multiple calls placed by Ailes to Trump. In the course of those conversations, we acknowledged his concerns about a satirical observation we made in order to quell the attacks on Megyn Kelly, and prevent her from being smeared any further. Furthermore, Trump offered to appear at the debate upon the condition that FOX News contribute $5 million to his charities. We explained that was not possible and we could not engage in a quid pro quo, nor could any money change hands for any reason. In the last 48 hours, we’ve kept two issues at the forefront — we would never compromise our journalistic standards and we would always stand by our journalist, Megyn Kelly. We have accomplished those two goals and we are pleased with the outcome. We’re very proud to have her on stage as a debate moderator alongside Bret Baier & Chris Wallace.

What a negotiator! Trump wins again.

Hum...Alies calls Trump three times to explain or justify his networks infantile post about Trump and defend one of his talent...

Trump says pony up five million to benefit Trump PR machine...

Alies says: Thanks, but no thanks... we aren't buying you...

A negotiator would have walked away with something...Trump got nothing.... negotiator fail...

I'm not sure how this is a win for Trump...unless getting his name in the news cycle for another 24 hours is considered a win with some very potential negative consequences...

I stand corrected. Thanks for the info.

I used Kool Aide as a generic catch all, the same way Coke is used generically for soft drink. (I’ll have a coke means bring me a coke or whatever you serve in place of it).

I am sure Kool Aide doesn’t like the brand being associated with Jonestown.

I did not see it and the stories I read about it were conflicting.

Of course the stories are conflicting! All spin, all the time. I'm pretty sure the debate is avaliable online if you want to watch it - best way to make up your own mind.

The bandwidth where I am at pretty much makes video impractical.

A negotiator would walk away with what he wanted. If what he wanted was not to be there, he would have made the terms so outrageous that no one would comply.

Which is exactly what Trump did.

Then you're stuck with conflicting second-hand accounts.

22 recipients of Trump Debate donations are listed. WOUNDED WARIORS PROJECT is not among a great list of organizations. Looks like the investigation of WWP kept them off the list.

A fat lot Fox news knows or cares about journalistic standards.

Also, Trump said he received multiple calls from Fox News, but Ailes carefully said that he only called him three times. Notice that Trump didn't say multiple calls from Ailes. I'm sure Ailes wasn't the only person calling Trump on behalf of Fox, and I wouldn't be surprised to hear that Murdock made one of the calls.

Schmegyn Smelly a journalist?

Ailes has gone senile. He has been overcome by oily legged reporterettes in ho heels showing off their boob cracks.

Not a fox news defender. I hate the whores. I just posted the article from Brietbart to show what the asses at Fox were trying to get away with.

In addition to his name in the news cycle, he got an APOLOGY, as well as $5+M for the veterans.

Ailes’ satirical observation was an appropriate response to a self-absorbed, malignant nacissistic asshole like Donald Trump.

Trump can sure dish it out, but throws a temper tantrum befitting a tow year old, which is exactly how his first wife described Trump emotional state.

I worked in television for 30+ years, and that ain't how it works. Simply put: todays ratings translate to ad rates they can or can't charge.

Advertisers do not like being fooled. The Fox sales dept. will have a tough time keeping or getting a decent rate from now on..some advertisers may never return...."fool me once". This was a small scale disaster for them.

I have been there and done that and I know what they're going thru.

It may be time for me to tune out from FR. People here have degenerated into contradiction in lieu of debate, without even trying ti persuade (which normally is aimed at those reading, not the steadfast opponent).

Ailes was far from principled, and his “satirical” tweet was an unveiled taunt to try and force Trump to acquiesce.

Trump used an unreasonable demand to insulate himself from having to acquiesce.

The net effect? We’ll see on Monday.

However, those simply throwing verbal bombs at each other will not convince anyone, except to how childish they can act, IMO.
