I was incorrect. Over FIVE years from 2009 through 2013, Trump donated $57,000 of his $10,000,000,000 to veteran causes. Of this, nothing to Wounded Warriors, according to his foundation’s 990 tax forms.

A shame you can not separate politics from Christian values.

The 57,000 is what Trumps foundation gave to veterans groups over a five year period from 2009 - 2013. During that same five year period, Trumps foundation gave between 100,001 and 250,000 to the Clinton Foundation. This data is from a review of Trumps foundation by the Weekly Standard which was quoted in the Federalist Article.

From what I understand, much of Trump’s philanthropy is personal. I.e., he will give to/support individuals (police/firemen/vets) more than veterans or police groups. If I had his $$$, I’d do the same. Too many of those groups have inordinate amounts of donations going to administrative costs/salaries/travel and especially fundraising.

Until relatively recently, there wasn’t much known about the Clinton Foundation’s crookedness. (tho, certainly, there should have been) They managed to do “just enough” good works to cover the corruption. The Clintons may be sleazy and self-serving, but they are not stupid.

You know, yesterday, it was all about how Wounded Warriors was a crooked organization. Today, it's bitching about something else. Tomorrow, there will be another gripe. They're like the media - they just can't stop talking about Trump.

Honest to God. Trump has left the stage, and their candidate is given unrestricted freedom to shine in the debate. What more do they want? Are they conceding that the debate is meaningless without Trump?

The debate stage is theirs. Trump has elected to do something else. It's time for the loons to get over it.

Yeah, he set the whole thing up to steal from Veterans. You are either a nut, or just a low opportunist, that would use anything to further your candidate.

Could you make the right decision on where money goes with only 2 days
notice? I don’t think so.
Plus if he picked one or two groups, people like you would be complaining
about those groups too.

Best solution is to park the funds in a Trump Foundation, until
it can be who wants money and how much will each get.

I know. It’s depressing to see all the Freepers who support the progressive charlatan Donald Trump. Trump’s pals Nancy and Harry and Chuck U. will be all smiles on Monday night if Trump wins.

Now you’re cooking with gas.

This is what loons look like.

They troll over here at Jim’s house to leave their droppings then duck back out for sympathy at their hovel in the alley, cuss Jim over there, give onyx a hard time, dive bomb back in here to mess their britches some more, then run back to the alley and brag about how big a pile they left behind.

If it were not so pathetic, it would be hilarious behavior, typical of any kiddie care operation with Pampers on hand.

Jim, lemme hold the nuke, pleeeze, pleeeze, just once! I wanna get to fire a missile and grow up to be a Viking Kittie, some day, too.

FYI, private foundations are some of the mostly closely examined entities out there. Donald Trump’s, especially given his wealth, notoriety and recent position as a destroyer of the establishment, IS going to be examined with a fine-toothed comb.

Without ever having met him, or having anything to do with any business connected with him or his charity, I can assure you that every single cent that he receives will be not only accounted for, but given out to various veterans organizations without so much as a single cent taken out for administrative expenses. Trump isn’t that stupid, no matter what else you may think of him.

Oh, and we’re not so stupid as to buy your accusation as being anything but sour grapes from someone who supports some (or any) other candidate besides Trump.

As for me, I’ve donated to Cruz’ campaign. I believe that Trump will be the nominee, but I’ve given him nothing, not even bought one of his hats. IOW, I’m not biased toward him - but even if I were, simple common sense says that he won’t pocket one red cent of the money he’s raising, not even to defray the actual costs of taking the money in and disbursing it. Go peddle that nonsense somewhere else.

I would think one thing Trump would do before disbursing the funds to the vets organizations is to make sure that they assure him that the money actually goes to the vets and not to the “non-profit” organizations’ salaries and benes.

Ever since Lois Lerner I’ve been afraid to donate to any campaigns. I’ll admit I was cowed. I just hit the max on the donation site and feel damn friggin good about it - it was a charitable donation but it feels like a political one too. C’mon FRiends - go hit the button too !

Of course it directs all funds to his organization. This charade has never been about the Vets. Its about providing cover for avoiding the only Iowa debate 4 days before voting begins.

Hmmmmm, so he rakes in the money for his foundation, but there's no way to know if it actually benefits a Veteran? Sounds too much like a scam to me.
