You know, it is honestly encouraging to think that the term ‘communist’ can still offend someone. I thought we had reached the point where they no longer feel ashamed of it like they no longer feel ashamed of so many other things.

For example, there seems to be no shame in amorality, in parasitism, in mocking Christianity, etc.

You're spot on. When listening to local talk radio in the Red Mountain state; Bernie would come on every week or so...when the subject of Russia came up; you could hear his voice cracking, you could visualize his eyes welling up with tears. Now, of course; communism draws college students like feces draws flies.
