I also am a bit worried that Trump won’t be willing to walk away from a bad deal because he won’t want to ruin his rep as a great deal maker. Sometimes, as Fiorina said, you really do just have to walk away from the table until the underlying factors change.


You missed the news yesterday? Seems like Trump did just walk away from the debates. How about the other candidates? They haven’t walked yet and that debate is a very bad deal.

Pretty basic that if you aren’t willing to walk away, then you aren’t really negotiating. You are just incrementally surrendering.

I think Trump understands that. (A bit of an understatement there....).

I don't think that debate is remotely a bad deal for other candidates.

The debates aren't a deal. They're pure politics, and Trump made a purely political calculation that he'd personally be better off not attending.
