Nicotine addiction is one of the worst.
I was a chain-smoker and a stress-smoker. There was a time (read many years) when I smoked FIVE PACKS a day.
It took me six years or so just to reduce that to one pack a day.
Had an oncologist once tell me that smokers who drink lots of sweet carbo drinks and smoke and those drinking mixed drinks or straight booze have a great increase in throat cancers due to the mucus lining being degraded and the carcinogens getting to the underlying tissues. Also papilloma virus has easier access to the underlying tissues ...
I'm seventy. Been stopped now twelve years and miss it some.
My Father taught me how to roll my first smoke when I was 11. Used Bull Durham for years (can’t roll it in high winds, can’t keep it dry in South East Asia).
Smoked store bought for quite a few years but went back to “roll my owns” in 1986.
Been growing and curing my own tobacco for the last 4 years, don’t expect I’ll ever quit completely, 67 now and still healthy as far as I can tell.
