Arrested by customs on King Fahd causeway
Saudi customs men on King Fahd causeway linking the Gulf Kingdom with neighbouring Bahrain, arrested a local man trying to smuggle liquor in his underwear.
The Saudi man was returning from Bahrain when he was stopped by the customs and ordered to step out of his car.
Customs men searching him found 14 bottles of liquor hidden under his dishdasha (grown) and tied around his body, according to 'Sabq' newspaper.
Alcohol is strictly banned in conservative Saudi Arabia, where liquor smugglers are punished with long jail terms.
Reminds me of a shipmate of mine half-a-hundred years ago, an older petty officer, coming aboard limping saying he hurt his ankle. He was caught with a pint of whiskey tucked into his sock top and taped to his leg.
Who caught him?

JOOD, a new Chief standing one of his first OD watches. You can slip that stuff past officers easier than chiefs...
