Even if the conclusion is exactly what I surmised that Intel will soon be producing ‘doze-only chipsets because that will be a PR coup and all computing platforms should be of course running the latest ‘doze platform for maximum effectiveness?

Consider that Macs are the only class of desktop still gaining market share and that Microsoft ultimately had to make Windows 10 free (and now mandatory) to keep it alive. Intel has great reason to see Microsoft succeed since it’s all about them staying alive in an age of Linux servers and free open source software. Their final solution may indeed be joining forces to officially become Wintel and shut everyone else out in the cold. I see Windows Server 2016 CPU-core licensing and notice that Intel didn’t throw a fit...
Unfortunately for their plans comes the ARM A9X.
Wait until Microsoft has to make Windows Server free... And mandatory.
