If so, then the AL should ban the DH. That won't happen, because AL teams and their fans like it, and because it keeps over-the-hill players who can't field but can still swing a bat employed, which the players union loves. But there's no need for the NL to institute this corruption of the game.

I’m a fan of an American League team, the Orioles, and I despise the designated hitter rule. And I’ll never change. One of my fondest baseball memories is Dave McNally hitting a Grand Slam in the World Series. You just can’t beat that.

That's a falsehood perpetrated by professional baseball. If it was true then the NL would have instituted it years ago.
There is no baseball fan I know who supports the AL DH..................
