It’s the structure. Sounds like the main building.
The building “burt-down” so I thought they probably have an indoor range. I think they do, since they seem to have CHL classes there.
There’s unburned powder on the floor at a busy range. They have to sweep it every day. It accumulates in the floor expansion joints and anywhere where floor meets wall.
It will burn. I worked at a range and we had a few small fires even though we swept the place every night. A spark from a shooter hits the floor and ignites the accumulation. Mostly it burns out harmlessly, but not always. The owner of the range bought a pack blower to clear the ranges every month.
