Been snowing here, too. Not much going on. Still adding to
the compost bin as we have for 30 yrs. now. Husband has
started burning printed stuff in the wood heating stove; so
I guess he’s not going to put any more ashes on the garden.
We have built up the soil until it’s in pretty good shape.
Have had a limited amount of garden vegs and fruits. Good
organic tomatoes. - Houseplants aren’t doing all that well.
I rubbed the clay pots in sweetened yogurt. A mistake. The
sugar just sabotaged things and made the pot a streaked
black fungus color. I put half an aspirin in both pots and
watered them; hope that helps. Winter’s difficult. Having
to keep the woodstove going all the time. It could be
worse! - I don’t think we are really able to have a very
large garden any more. I’ve had to accept limitations on
what I’m able to do. :o( Used to freeze a lot of stuff;
don’t feel like doing it now. So I do what I can do.
Ok, fill me in on this yogurt. Why are you putting it on your clay pots?
We keep ice cream buckets by the coffee maker to fill with grounds and peelings. When full, they get tossed onto the garden. It’s up to Mother Nature to do her own composting since we don’t have the room for a bin.
KWYM about limitations and not being able to do as we once could. I didn’t know whether to laugh or cry when the cashier this week gave me a senior citizen discount. When did I get old?
