OK, found the CNN video you referred to and confess to missing that post when it was made in December. While conceding that appears to be where things started, what is your opinion on the delays on actually bringing those responsible to trial? I’m really underwhelmed with the process, if it can be called that, being taken by authorities in Waco.
One injustice does not excuse another. There are people in that 175+ that were arrested that are murderers, plain and simple. That does not justify treating all of those people like murderers. Unfortunately, for the interests of justice, those murderers may not all be identified simply due to the confusion of the event and the number of variables involved. It will be difficult to pick one person that shot one other person when there are 175 possible suspects and a couple hundred weapons. That is a mountain of evidence to go through. The one homicide we have seen on film was Mr. Rodriguez from San Antonio. We don't know if any others were captured on film.
In the end, nobody is going to be happy with the results. The dead bikers' families will either not know who killed their family members or blame police for shooting them. The police will see a bunch of bikers that started a riot in their town walk, and the people of Waco will get stuck with the bill. Years of litigation will follow a long line of trials with very little chance of a clean verdict.
