May I add another request, JR & JR?

Allow a poster to edit his/her post.

This would eliminate a lot of posting errors.

I been asking the same thing for 18 years. The answer has always been the same. It would be nice, even if it were a timed function....say...poster is given 3 minutes to *fix*/edit; timing would eliminate someone going back and changing everything they ever typed.

Another feature I'd love to see, when you type a poster's name, and you are one space, or character off ...it would be wonderful if in the *TO* line, I type *Tax man* and the software asks you: *Do you mean, Taxman, or Taxxman, Taxmann, Taximan?*

So any names typed that are *near* to what you actually typed are offered as possibilities.

Kinda like a *spellcheck* for screen-names that are in the FR database.

Very bad idea. People post arguments to assertions that can later be changed by the person who typed the original assertion? Boooooo

I'll second that motion.

Have a 15 or 20 second timer that will start after you hit post...giving time to edit.

But, that would necessitate the poster proof reading his/her post...which most don't do now anyway, thus the errors.

So I guess just leave it and proofread.

If an error is so egregious, hit “report abuse” on your own post, explain to mod, ask him to remove it.

I’ve done it a few times and they have complied.
