The smartest thing would be to have mandatory firearms classes in high school so everyone would learn how to respect and fire a pistol / shotgun / rifle.
What an amazing thing knowledge is!
When you grow up with guns it’s no big deal!
We have gotten to far away from the farm and common sense.
Woodrow Wilson High School, Dallas, Texas, 1975, had a rifle range in the basement, and the guns, .22, were locked up in the ROTC SGM’s gun cage. I was a big fan of the rifle then and never went back to regular sports. Even went on the drill team so I could play with the rifles. 22 years in the military and 11 years with the DoD and I still run to the range every chance I get.
The coolest thing I have seen in years is the testing range that Kel-Tec has for their weapons. Class act all around.
Gee, you’d have wanted to go to High School in the ‘60’s or earlier. My wife’s HS had competitive rifle/pistol teams until she graduated (1967). My HS had teams up to ‘62 when our range was declared unsafe due to the sole entrance being next to the target end of the range.
It’s more important that the kids be taught about sex and all manner of sexuality. They might catch a disease, become pregnant, or not be accepting of transgender gerbil stuffing manwomen.
Knowledge of guns could only help them avoid killing themselves or others.
Makes perfect sense.
