The Buffalo Bills are making NFL history. the Bills are the first team in NFL history to have hired a full-time female assistant coach.
The Bills hired Kathryn Smith as the team's newest Quality Control-Special Teams coach. Smith spent the 2015 season with the Bills, and was with the New York Jets alongside Rex Ryan the year before that.
"Kathryn Smith has done an outstanding job in the seven years that she has worked with our staff," said Ryan. "She certainly deserves this promotion based on her knowledge and strong commitment, just to name a couple of her outstanding qualities, and I just know she's going to do a great job serving in the role of Quality Control-Special Teams."

Crap. The Pats run is ovah!
Rex likes her toes......
What the hell is “Quality Control”?
Oh oh. She’s white. Spike the Joint Lee and the #bowelmovementsmatter crowd are going to be pissed. I see a boycott of the Super Bowl coming.
Making sure balls are properly inflated?
She makes sure the players...measure up.
Will she be allowed in the locker room?
On the bright side, a few men will get jobs doing the real work (they may be called “assistants”, but in my company any token female has a few white guys doing all the real work). Owners can always swap out the token figureheads, while the real workers should be secure.
Good grief. Would somebody please get the females out of football including broadcasting.
Holy crap, man. That was friggin’ nauseating.
You mean to tell me that Buffalo Bill is still alive and there are more than one of him?
quality control is the most miserable job in the NFL...usually the job entails breaking up and sequencing film immediately after games....since she’s the special teams QC she will have to break down then sequence all the kick-offs, punts, FG’s so when the special teams coach walks in Monday AM he’ll have the special teams film handy which means she’ll be there all Sunday night until the wee hours of Monday AM...there is often a lot of tedious stats breakdown as well..special teams QC is a lot easier than say offensive QC or defensive QC or secondary QC...
So she is not going to actually coach Special Teams.
doubt she ever steps on the field for game day other than to watch...
Good memory. Lisa Olson (I had to look it up after you put the bug in my ear). Worth a chuckle:
....
On September 17, 1990, Olson was interviewing players in the Patriots locker room on a practice day. Two Patriots had complained earlier to James Oldham, the team’s director of media relations, and to Patrick Sullivan, the team’s general manager, that they believed Olson was, in the players’ words, “a looker,” someone who stood around the locker room not interviewing anyone.[6] General Manager Pat Sullivan observed Olson and determined that she was acting professionally, interviewing Maurice Hurst, but took no other action.[6] Several of the players subsequently taunted her by walking naked in her presence, making vulgar comments and gestures.[4] One player, Zeke Mowatt, “fondled his genitals” in front of her.[4] Robert Perryman did the same while her back was turned. Others, including Michael Timpson, made jokes and egged each other on.[6]
as if Bills fans don't catch enough crap as it is...
