I was amused to see the number of people who could not or would not follow the clear instructions.

Reminds me of an 6th grade school exercise where my teacher gave the class an assignment, that contained 40 lines of very specific instructions.....

Instruction No. 1 was read all instructions before beginning.

Instruction No.'s 2-39 were something detailed as an example like draw 10 boxes with a triangle (40) emanating from each box edge.

Instruction No. 40 was "Disregard earlier 39 instructions, and turn in blank paper with your name on it

Only one kid in our class did it right. but it taught me a life lesson, even to this day.

We had that too, in 4th or 5th grade. There was a long list of instructions and some were things like “Stand up and clap three times” “quietly sing Happy Birthday” and such. The very first top of the page said READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE BEGINNING. And the last instruction, number 48 or whatever, was Do Nothing Written Above.

Soooo embarrassing as we all had been caught standing and singing and whatnot. I don’t remember if anyone did it right but I know I did not.
