Exactly. It gives legitimacy to the term. It’s curious, last night I was watching an old Merv Griffin episode from the mid ‘60s and on it was Martin Luther King, Jr. and Harry Belafonte. Belafonte was actually dominating the conversation to a degree and brought up that phrase “McCarthyism” as having had a chilling effect with respect to the Black Civil Rights Movement as Belafonte saw it.
If anything, it exposed the Communist (Soviet) movement’s tactics to deeply imbed itself in the Black Community in order to divide our country. MLK himself in the interview effectively dismissed Communism as merely a “competing ideology”, although saying he didn’t want to live under such a system (despite the fact he’d been trained at a Communist school, Highlander Folk). Of course, Belafonte has since given up any pretense of moderation and has become another Paul Robeson apologist and supporter of Stalinist/Marxist totalitarian regimes, even urging our current President to imprison his political enemies.
Ultimately, I got from the interview was that we (Whites) could either move to solving problems in the Black Community with Socialist approaches peacefully, or if we did not accommodate them, violently. Disturbing, to say the least. We’ve now seen the fruits of that movement 50 years hence, and it is not a pretty sight.
Right. Even though you disagree with me, shipping all of them TFO of the USA is the best solution to this lingering Cuvil War problem.
150+ years...way past time to fix the glitch.

You can toss in Danny Glover for a more modern example.
