I worked in a lumber yard, a 5&10, a warehouse and as a janitor in a grade school to put myself through. Unlike the rich kids whose parents paid their way through, I felt a sense of accomplishment that went beyond the degree on graduation day.
Look at what colleges turn out these days. Namby pambies that need a safe space from micro-aggression and demands that working people pay for their education.
Times have changed.
Too many people going to college. College has become “the company store” of the modern economy. But instead of owing your soul to the College, you owe it to Government.
