Cape Breton Man's 'Redneck Snowplow' Video Goes Viral
CBC News ^ | Jan 18, 2016

Video has been viewed a quarter-million times on Facebook since it was posted Sunday

Part home-made convertible, part home-made snowplow: it's how some streets in Cape Breton are getting cleared of snow in style.

A video of a "redneck snowplow" clearing driveways in Whitney Pier is going viral on social media.

Since the original video was posted by James Macdonald Sunday morning, it has racked up more than 4,500 shares and has been viewed more than a quarter-million times on Facebook.

Although a 2000 Grand Prix may not be the vehicle of choice for most commercial snowplows, the driver doesn't seem to have much trouble maneuvering snowy streets in the two-wheel drive.

HA!

Well front wheelers have most of the weight on the drive wheels to begin with and you add the plow

Definitely low cost.

Shoot. I thought a “redneck snowplow” would surely involve a flamethrower.

Looks like the Batmobile when Batman is down and out and has to work for a living.

My uncle turned his old Subaru Brat into a snowplow decades ago, but was smart enough to leave the roof on. He just smashed a hole in the windshield to run the plow-lifting ratchet into the cab.

You’d get arrested in NYS for doing a community service. CSEA would see to that.
