Noun

Hillary Clinton went full-blown Chimera on Bernie Sanders at last evenings Democrat Presidential debate.
In a sentence:

I just noticed I missed the very definition I wanted for today.......so here it is:

Yes, “a thing that is hoped or wished for, but in fact is illusory or impossible to achieve.” The definition which perhaps is most applicable in today’s usage of chimera (or Chimera, if a proper noun).
“Bernie Sanders’ promise of free college for everyone is a chimera.”
Many Europeans went to bed one quiet night and woke up to a Chimera. And so it will go, on & on without end. We all hope not.
The NY Media and political pundits are in a state of chimera if they think that the rest of the country doesn’t understand exactly what Ted Cruz means by “NY values” especially since (in the recent words of Gov. Cuomo, people who are pro-life and people who question gay marriage “aren’t welcome” in NY. Gov. Cuomo offers such an easy target in this dispute, I don’t know why nobody seems to have used his words as an answer to Trump’s indignation.
The whole obama Presidency is based on the chimera of “change” and “hope”.
We got “change” all right-enough to make us sick!!!! Now the only “hope” we have is in God!!!!
