A police officer was shot and killed while responding to a traffic accident in Holladay Sunday, and the suspect who shot him also wounded another officer before being fatally shot a short distance from the first alleged crime.
Salt Lake County Sheriff Jim Winder identified the deceased officer as Doug Barney, an 18-year veteran of the department and a father of three who worked in the Holladay Precinct.
Barney was responding to a traffic accident at 4500 South and 2300 East around 10 a.m., and when he arrived a man and woman were observed leaving the scene of the crash.
Winder said as Barney approached the pair, the male turned and fired at Barney, striking him in the head. Barney was taken to a hospital, where he later died due to his wounds.
Other officers responding to the area encountered the pair a short distance away, at about 2150 East 4500 South, and Winder said gunfire erupted "immediately" as the male suspect fired on officers, who returned fire.
Another UPD officer, Jon Richey, was hit three times and was taken to a hospital. Richey is listed as being in stable condition.

And yes, the perp is dead...guilty of a crime so vast man's justice has no appropriate punishment more appropriate than dispatching the perp immediately to a higher court, but that's little compensation, for the moment, and adds evidence to the argument that insists our social order is not, in fact, making criminals smarter, as some believe.

He had warrants. Photos show a tatted white boy dressed like a ghetto thug. His mother and brother showed up at the scene and were arrested on outstanding warrants after fighting with the cops there. Nice family.

Answer to my own question:
Henderson has a history with the law, with police records indicating he was booked multiple times in the years between 2005 and 2013 for a variety of charges, which included aggravated assault, possession of amphetamine, receiving stolen property, possession of stolen property, criminal trespass, possession of drug paraphernalia and various other violations.
Was probably methed out.
Only good thing is all the future crimes this pile of pig turds won’t commit.

Probably best to sterilize them all.
Add to that restricted person in possession of a firearm, and the fact he was returned to prison on parole violation and released just last month. Oh, and he headshot the responding officer dead, and then shot a pursuing officer twice in the legs and one gut shot following fleeing the auto crash.
