Itâs been just over four months since Sean Penn met with the worldâs most wanted drug lord, and things arenât going as the actor had planned.
âMy article has failed,â Penn told CBSâs Charlie Rose in an interview that will air on 60 Minutes this Sunday.
The Oscar winner was referring to the 10,000-plus word screed detailing his meeting this October with notorious Mexican cartel boss Joaquin âEl Chapoâ Guzman, and the events leading up to it. Rolling Stone published Pennâs article this past Saturday, following Guzman's capture six months after his Hollywoodesque escape from a maximum security prison this past July.
Penn had hoped that by interviewing the head of one of the worldâs largest and deadliest drug cartels he could spark a meaningful dialogue about U.S. drug war policies. Instead, his interview is being credited with helping lead Mexican authorities to the evasive Guzmanâa recognition the actor does not want.

It was Kate that started this touchy lovey conversation with El Chapo. Looks like Kate is way off from reality. She also reached out to Sean Penn, so that is very telling. Now theses airheads are going to get hit by reality.
So What?
You Get Into Bed with EVIL and you expect it will do you good???
This is where Common Sense, Truth, and being a Moral Individual helps one navigate Evil! Remember the old saying show me your friends and Ill show you your future??? Do you have any comprehension why this saying came about?
The Enemy is within and until we deal with that Enemy we will Never be able to Deal with the Enemy’s outside the Nation.
“I hope they send wave after wave of sicarios after him.
I hope he becomes so toxic that NOBODY wants the liberal piece of crap around.
I hope the effort to take him out so disgusts every body else that he is shunned, avoided, ducked and eventually driven so far underground that every one will just assume he is dead and buried.
Couldn’t happen to a nicer limousine liberal.
I do hope that no innocent lives become endangered, but since he’s primarily in Hollywood and Los Angeles, there’s not much chance of that. “
He can always find refuge with his good friend, Hugo Chavez.
Oh, Wait! ;-)
Top shelf movie.
The people who BUY and USE the drugs mean someone will always supply them.
Sean Penn played himself in one of the later episodes of Two and a Half Men with Charlie Sheen. He was supposed to be a friend of Charlie Harper in a ‘support group’. The funny thing about the episode is that Sean was perfectly type cast, since he played a burned out loser with absolutely nothing of value to contribute.
Wages of celebrity and being ugly- he will be very hard to hide
A lot of photographers will be very happy to reveal his whereabouts.

On, yeah those Cartel guys are just regular fellows.
For a price- whats a Sean worth these days 20.00
I looked it up. They were together for some awards show 5 days ago.
Wonder how many brave celebrities will want to be in his vicinity?
Kind of like 3 Amigos meets Spicoli. In fact, that could be the title.
I haven’t watched any network stuff since I got SATtv years ago-but I do watch some of the 9pm narco mafia novelas on Telemundo now and again-I think del Castillo does a good job with the narco bad-girl characters-in real life, she appears to be a well-meaning airhead who is an American citizen and lives in Miami and Cali most of the time-a friend of mine who lives in Miami says she is always donating and doing work for some charity or another-especially women and girls who have been victimized/prostituted by human traffickers.
That said, her sense of reality is indeed a bit off-she seems to think she can make awful people do good things just by talking to them-like El Chapo-not very smart at all.
Sean Penn has never been the sharpest knife in the drawer-he was probably trying to be a “journalist” to be noticed again, just like he was when he hung out with Castro and Chavez. His 15 minutes of fame are over anyway...
Oh well
Congratulations!
YOU DID IT!!!!!
If I recall correctly, something similar happened to Steven Seagal. He got caught up with some Mafia guys, and ended up having, shall we say, some unpleasant moments with them.
