Ted Cruzâs "New York Values" quip may have been ill-advised politically (we'll see), but what New Yorkers generally and Trump supporters specifically need to understand is that Cruz was referring to a "Meet the Press" interview in which Donald Trump referenced how living in New York helped frame his [then] very Liberal "values." ....
Russert: Would you ban abortion?
Trump: No.
Russert: Would you ban partial birth abortion?
Trump: "No. I am pro-choice in every respect, as far as it goes.".....
There are no doubt "good trees" in New York, which are producing "good fruit", but on the whole, politically, New York is a cesspool (see: DeBlasio, Cuomo).
New York conservatives (and moderates) should be pissed, but not at Ted Cruz. They should be mad at themselves, that they've allowed their state (as we in California) to advance much of what is wrong in America; nannyism, cronyism, division, Marxism.

I’m trying to think which conservative has banned abortion and partial birth abortion since that interview.
I can’t think of one. Help me out.
That settles it. Trump is the only bad apple. All the other candidates are angels and the embodiment of perfection. They are perfect in every way.
New Yorkers are a special breed of people....none like them anywhere...brash, bold, outspoken, get your nose out of my business...
..but again I say it’s ok for Goldman Sachs and Citibank and 2 gay people (on tape)...

Did you ever vote for George H. W. Bush? He was pro-choice before he got on the Reagan ticket. In fact, his father, the late Senator Prescott Bush, was the first treasurer of the organization that later became known as Planned Parenthood.
No, I am skeptical of them all. Especially if they have changed opinion 180 degrees. I want them to explain why so I know which to believe.
Thankfully, TRUMP changed his views and has already given thoughtful interviews, one on one, giving chapter and verse as to the reason he has done this or that, or how, when and why he changed on this or that.
Even back then TRUMP assessed his liberal views honestly, saying that he knew that it was because he was raised in NY, and he added, therefore, that he understood the differences from other regions, saying we would have to see, because the rest of the country may have different ideas.
People like his honesty, first of all, and they like the consideration he bothers to show to other people and regions who are different.
TRUMP is winning big on that honesty and authenticity. It’s rare to have such a combination, and people trust him because of it. The polling proves it.
The Democrats dread him. That helps too.

**********************************************************************************
Trump’s idea of “authenticity” is to present himself to an audience as the audience wants him to be. Polling proves he is successfully fooling people...just as Obama did in 2008.
Has senility and dementia set in on Trump? He can’t remember that he SPECIFICALLY SAID HE HAD NEW YORK VALUES (AFTER DEFINING THEM BY EXAMPLES) and HE ALSO SAID HE WOULD HAVE SPECIFICALLY HAD DIFFERENT (IOWA) VALUES IF HE WAS RAISED IN IOWA. Trump actually used Iowa as a place with values different than New York values.

Agree. That goes for both Cruz and Trump.
” Trump actually used Iowa as a place with values different than New York values. “ ****
I know. Is he not positively prescient?!! That was such a nice example of consideration for differences and respect for other regions. I have seen this video and like it very much.
It is powerful, and gives insight into his strength and leadership with courage.
Absolutely!
This really is Trump’s roots. FReepers falling for it.
The act of speaking out is a powerful thing. To support abortion up until 12 weeks is a bad thing. To do so in the last trimester or during birth is flat out murder in the first degree. I don’t know how any educated person can support that, yet Trump does.
What power does speaking out about it have?
Has it ended the practice?
Is it going to end the practice anytime soon? Anytime in my lifetime?
What do you think? What about gay marriage?
Trump says he doesn’t support abortion anymore, so he’s speaking out about it, I guess. That’s a powerful thing as you stated.
Is Trump’s speaking out about it going to end it? Nope.
