The hirsute star, who famously was the real life friend of bears and wildcats, returned home after doctors, in the hospital where he was receiving treatment at, told him time was growing short.
While home, Haggerty met with close friends and family in his final days.

I loved that show when I was a kid. I’m surprised he was only 74.
I loved that show as a child.
The theme alone evoked a sort of comfort with the loneliness one would experience in the wild.
Back in his heyday, Haggerty was on the Battle of the Sexes. He was matched against Kristy McNichol, and here was the quote that has stuck with me for some reason. “If I beat her, people will say, ‘how could you beat a girl like that?’ If I lose, they’ll say, ‘how could you let a girl beat you?’”
You have just synopsized the double-edged sword of political correctness!
He starred in a Great TV of my childhood.
Miss those more innocent simpler days.
BTW: It seems that we may have hit the “Celebrities die in threes”.
Dan Haggerty and Fess Parker. RIP
Great TV when I was a pup.
Wonder what type cancer it was. No articles I’ve read have mentioned it.
As usual.
