As I posted to another thread:
Do you remember all the American flags flying after 9-11?
Well, of course you do.
I still keep one on my car (had to replace it once). When I go out to the parking lot now, it is the only car with an American flag on it.
I do remember.
It wasn’t just NY and NYC that rose up, it was the entire country.
Cruz was poking Trump in the chest about his use of Alinsky tactics - promoting liberal talking points.
Trump (to boos) said the “birther” matter hadn’t concerned him before but now that Cruz is moving up he had made the tactical decision to use it (paraphrasing).

Precisely- that sums it up beautifully-
It doesn't matter much, to the political process, if a candidate pulling 2% of the vote is unqualified. That person isn't going to be elected. As a candidate's probability of getting elected improves, it is more important to vet his qualifications . That relationship is important both to close opponents (where two or three have a chance of winning), and to the election process without regard to who the opponents are.
After all, if the people elect an unqualified candidate, that sort of screws up the peoples "right to choose."
Presidential elections are one place where the proof of qualification comes LAST. There is no need to prove qualification in order to run, only to assert it.
Teddy and the Cruzers, eh?
