That voice. That rumbling, grumbling growl whose vague menace is a reminder that humans are, at their core, animals. Alan Rickmanâs voiceâthough âvoiceâ doesnât feel like quite enough for the instrument able to produce that singular and simmering baritoneâallowed him to play, time after time, quintessential villains: the Sheriff of Nottingham, Rasputin, Elliot Marston, Hans Gruber. Those roles, after his death, may well be what Rickman is best remembered for: the âcomplicated villain.â The âsensual screen villain.â The villain âyou couldnât help rooting for.â

Yeah, a funny line. Cute movie. Okay, by cute I mean Sigourney’s new boobs! lol
About the politics: he got along well with Bruce Willis. Like Werner Klemperer and Bob Crane, they were able to see past their politics.
FWIW: I didn't see his Rasputin. Could be awful or pretty good or so bad it's good.
I bought ‘Love Actually’ last year. I liked it. I like Brit movies and actors.
LOL, thanks. I thought I would be the only one old enough to remember that character.
Okay, it has been a long time since I saw that movie; but, what I remember about that is that, to me, it seemed that they were connecting all sorts of disparate people together as kind of a theme of love in all of its different circumstances. I guess I just didn't think that a young boy having his first crush could be compared to a couple of porn actors.
Also, I just didn't like the one female character being referred to as fat when she just seemed normal size to me. It is that thing that Hollywood tends to portray beauty in terms of very, very thin, so that normal looking people are looked at as fat.
As I say, it has been a while since I watched that movie; but, I do have a residual dislike for it that has remained.
I wasn't aware Klemperer and Crane had political differences. What were they?
Galaxy Quest - that’s the role I remember him in.
Crane was conservative.
Though not in his lifestyle.
Now that I look this up it sounds like there was friction on the set about a variety of different things and a lot of kidding, but Klemperer spoke well of Crane in all the interviews I saw.
Did anyone see him in “BlowDry” ? Am I the only one who saw it?
