I doubt Cruz ever heard of it either. The term was out of use by the time he became old enough to know what was going on.
As far as I’m concerned, Trump should have known about it, but he was too busy making billions back then, which was not a part time job.

Erick Erickson posted this today that Cruz internals and other campaigns/SUPER PACS say the birther attacks are working and their numbers are close to Quinippiac with Trump with a narrow lead now in Iowa.
Cruz is getting desperate.

Hewitt seems obsessed with talking about the nuclear triad. It’s like he’s itching for WW3.
The triad thing fails because the general public has no idea what it is. An effective gotcha would have been something the general public knows, but Trump didn’t.
I don’t see Cruz as a “desperate” kind of guy. If he doesn’t get the nomination, he isn’t going to fade away. He will simply keep plugging away and working hard to get us back to our limited-government roots, as he has been doing for decades.
Ted probably already had a working knowledge of the nuclear triad’since Minot AFB is only 50 miles from Canada....
On PredictIt,In Iowa, from 75 cents he had dropped to 53 cents today. Trump is now 40 from 15 cents.
Tomorrow Register polls will be out. Insider are saying Cruz will still be up in that poll.

This is a ridiculous twist on the actual interview. Cruz simply made the point that voters must choose who they think is qualified to make these decision. I didn’t even hear him say anything about Trump and sunday shows. I might have missed it, but then again, I was listening for it.
Cruz knows winning Iowa is his only shot. You better believe he’ll get desperate with his attacks soon. He’s got to pierce Trump’s aura of inevitability or its game over. If Trump wins Iowa. He easily wins NH. Then it’s game over. Trump rolls through South Carolina and SEC. That’s Trump’s territory. Those are his people. Then he wins the delegate take all states of Florida and Ohio on March 15 to knock out Kasich, Rubio, and Bush.
