If Johnny was given a starting job (which he frankly doesn’t deserve at this stage), I think this would be completely different. Sitting on the bench is creating a vacuum for Manziel. Too much time on his hands and not enough attention.

I would hope the Texans do not get him, but at the same time, I could see them bringing in all these guys with potential but not success and see if they could catch fire. That included Johnny, RGIII and Kapernick as possibilities. I could also see a scenario where Denver casts off Manning, and Houston would be a perfect spot for a year or two. I don’t know if he has the desire, but if he does, it would be the perfect scenario. Great defense, offensive minded coach, big-time receiver.

Manziel was given the starting job and he had a couple of adequate games but he couldn't stop the off-the-field antics.

If Manning doesn't retire after this season, he will have at least one more season at Denver... then retire. Denver won't cut him loose.
