One of the funniest tv episodes of all time, IMHO. Jack Soo and Abe Vigoda, especially.

Remember the episode and, in my youth, remember sampling Alice B. Toklas brownies for real (although I didn’t inhale). Yes, memories of a misspent youth.

I am currently working my way through Barney Miller on Netflix. I'm about half way through season 2. It is so awesome. Some of the best deadpan humor ever on TV.
Trivia: Barney Miller was never cancelled. After 8 seasons, the creator refused to write more because he was afraid of the show getting stale or repetitive.

Thanks, great episode, my personal favorite was the one where Harris made the porn movie.

This was probably one of the more realistic police shows on television. Barney and his men dealt with pretty mundane cases on a daily basis - domestic disputes, shoplifters, purse snatchers, etc. There were no million dollar robberies, spectacular chase scenes, or dramatic shoot-outs with the bad guys. In fact, the entire series took place either in the squad room, or in Barney’s office. I can’t recall seeing the detectives in a scene that took place anywhere else.

Thanks for the trip down memory lane. That is my favorite episode from one of my all time favorite shows. Geat dialogue and story lines pluss all the cast and guest stars were great character actors in their own rite.
Anybody remember this one?
