Nope, that day was January 20, 1969, the day Richard Milhous Nixon assumed the Presidency. All the following Presidents added around the edges, until Obey “Wonder Boy” Kenoble took office and proceeded to add more substance to the coming American Dictatorship - a prize all well-meaning Democrats in good standing long for with every fiber of their being.

That day in 1969 began America’s long slide into darkness and eventual oblivion. Once dearly held values are now either long gone or twisted out of all recognition to those who lived in America before Nixon.

Can this be reversed? No. You can’t go home again. But, it can be changed before the totalitarians completely take over (once that happens there is no going back).

Someone, somewhere some time soon has to make a move to stop this descent into utter madness. Who, what, and how, I haven’t a clue but some one must figure this out and act with a broadly accepted plan into a new America that takes the best from the old and adds to it.

Good points, and I think it is almost too late. How many people on the dole? Federal retirement? SSDI? Medicaid, Medicare, SSI, etc etc, it is tens of millions...it is largely over. I can only try to look at for my small circle. I intend to just do that. Voting for Republicans, who by the way won in a major way last year, has got us nothing...they rubber stamped Obama’s budget and gave him almost everything he asked for, including the funding for the importation of Syrian refugees for the ‘right’ to export oil. The GOP establishment is no different from the Democrats. Sure, I'll vote Cruz for the nomination and trump if he ends up against Hillary, but the cynic in me says the fix is in.
