Look in the mirror for the real racist and sexist Ms. Lange.

?I stopped reading white male authors last year. Here's what I learned. The correct answer is: "Nothing worth knowing."

I’d like the authoress’ address so I can send her “My Grandfather’s Son” by Justice Thomas, “Up from Slavery” by Booker T. Washington, some Dorothy Sayers and Jane Austen, Phyllis Schlafley’s “A Choice not an Echo”, and Humberto Belli’s “Breaking Faith” and “Nicaragua: Christians Under Fire”.

Blowing smoke. I doubt this person read many books by white men anyway. Fifty Shades of Gray is probably more her style.

I just like to read intelligent literature. Lange’s strategy results statistically in reading literature that is less intelligent and by excluding one group in particular, definitionally, less diverse. Ms. Lange should not give in so much to her insecurities and guilt. You can both diversify your reading choices and celebrate the talent and genius of both minorities and whites, male and female. I feel true pity for someone who has to go through life enfeebled by these racial and gender-based insecurities. It is also a shame that whites and white males in particular have to suffer Leftist attacks based on their insecurities.

So, why is this white woman stopping at reading white male authors? Why doesn't she go all the way and nix reading anything written by a white woman? After-all, if white men have been so tainted and deranged by virtue of their low levels of skin pigment, why does she think white women have not been so “damaged” and devoid of anything worth listening to or acknowledging? And if that is the case (and I absolutely know that there are hundreds of thousands, perhaps millions who believe this - the followers of Louie Farrakhan, Obama’s pastor, the Reverend Wright, and “educators” on every single multicultural department on college campuses across the country just for starters) why should anyone even listen to this white woman?

Literature should be the stuff that resonates with the reader, you should read it because you want to read it. She’s trying to be artsy and sensitive, but I read what she’s saying and it’s like being a kid forced to eat badly cooked Brussels sprouts.
I don’t really get how the publishing industry gatekeepers are somehow different for white vs non-white women. Any way you look at it, it’s a tremendously competitive business with a tradition of starving some of the best and brightest.

stories by people other than white, Western men I have never cared whether an author was male or female. I knew "Harry Potter" was by a woman, before I started reading it, and it never occurred to me that a sensible person would care. I knew "Color Purple" was by a black woman before I started reading it, and it never occurred to me that a sensible person would care. Once I discovered melanin concentrations were the only thing she cared about, I stopped reading.

I’ve never chosen to read a book based on the author’s skin color. What weirdos.
