The kid was on a 10-year probation. I'm guessing that when (if?) he returns to the US, that probation will be revoked. He'll have to do those 10 years.

The word is since the original sentence was in juvie court he’s not going to have to face the full dime but likely 120 days max. A shame. He should have gone away for 4 counts of Vehicular Homicide.
As to the pistol, since he’s not old enough to legally own one in the States he can just say it’s Mommy’s and have it thrown out. Since she’s already back in the US doubt the Mexicans will care about it.
Since it was tried in juvenile court when he get’s back he can be held only until he’s 19 which is in April 2016. Unfortunately for momma, she can get 2 - 10 years in slammer... He may have his case transferred to adult court but all that will do is extend his probation time.... Of course something tells me he’ll screw up again and when on adult probation they will end up locking him away for a while... ala OJ!
Dad apparently helped authorities find him in Mexico so he’s not facing any charges...
