I have been waiting for this and cant wait to watch the race.
right, so i always saw it as better to be slightly over the theoretical max flow without grossly over carbing what was required rather than starving it by under sizing the CFM but now that everything is injected i am out of my depth
and now with flowing all the parts to match each orifice it prolly pretty much is guarded as close a bombtech!
been trying to get my head around the flat crank rational myself, is it preferable and "snappier" because everything is either up or down rather than smoother rotational geometry?
I keep reading these stats and despite my hand strength I can imagine the darn car wheel ripping out of my hands as I slam back into the seat with my foot down way to far on the accelerator.
Training is everything driving these monsters and I sure don’t have it.
Heck, I thought the 90’s Z-28s were beasts but they could barely handle a turn they were so back heavy.
Anyway, you really have to appreciate the ability of these drivers. For the record I am good, and take optimimum care to watch for safety of myself AND my fellow driver which fewer and fewer seem to regard.
Yepper - my 2.0 liter turbo develops max torque at 1250 rpm and max ponies at 5000 or so - the complimentary curves keep it feeling strong throughout the whole band. 208 HP and quicker (from zero - governor-won't-let-it-go-faster) than my last which was a V-6 with 268 ponies. Get's 25% better mileage too....

I visited the Carroll Shelby factory and museum in Las Vegas in ‘14. The old dude that conducted the tour was a close friend of Shelby and had some great anecdotes that made the tour extra special. Shelby was a legitimate “hot shoe” when he was young but had to retire because of heart problems.
When he was still racing, Enzo interviewed him about driving for Ferrari. Shel had a family to support and ask Enzo about the pay. Enzo informed him that racing for Ferrari was a “privilege” and there was no salary.
Shel told Enzo to go crap in his hat. That set up an intense rivalry between the two that led to Shelby developing the Ford GT40 and winning Le Mans. Beating Ferrari added to the sweetness.
That's my boy. A chicken farmer from McKinney TX showed how to shut the tifosi up. RIP Carroll, I'll bet there is a blue GT40 with white stripes tearing up that big old road course in the sky, if there is a Heaven.
