Why is Nevada even considered a sovereign state?
When you take the federal land away, it is smaller than Hawaii.
Good question. The representatives elected by Nevada, along with those of other Western states, should work to change it. The avenues to do so are there, but the winds of public opinion may not agree with you or me. Yes, I believe Harry Reid and his sons are crooks also, but that is a different matter altogether.
Same with Alaska, Washington, Oregon, Montana, Idaho, and the rest of the Western states. However, once again, the nation purchased the lands out here so the entire nation has a say in the matter. We must use logic and reason to convince them that increased access and use would benefit everyone - not a bunch of Rambo wannabes taking over a Federal building on Federal land.
One way will bring about a desirable result for me and you. The other won’t do anything positive or productive - these men don’t even have standing on this issue according to one of the Bundy’s.

The Federal Government has no constitutional authority to own any land in Nevada that is not being used as a military base. If the people of the state of Nevada called out the their State National Guard and used it to throw the BLM out of Nevada altogether, which side would you be on?
While in rational times I would fully agree, keep in mind that we are dealing with a Government which is trying to stop the planet from warming (not proven) by taxing basic energy. The people we are dealing with are irrational scientific illiterates led by others with an agenda which is favorable to neither the people of this nation nor its economic health.
Logic and reason will not prevail against those who utilize neither.
