Sleep mode is evil. Turn all your energystar crap off. Cycling the power like sleep mode does is worse for product longevity than leaving it powered 24/7.
Besides, the $20 a year you’ll spend on added electricity is worth it to piss off liberals.

But if I leave it on how am I going to know when something nefarious is happening? The fans are always running when on- but when sleeping, the fans shouldn’t be running- so when they do-

Yeah I’m not worried about the energy saving- I used sleep more for turning off the computer and not allowing internet activity (I’m not sure that is correct- but I thought it was) than anything else- The only other thing I worry about is the computer overheating during night due to fan failure if I leave it on-
