Just saw a news story of hikers rescued from the Palisades in NY (Nyack?); I don’t think they were rock climbing, but they were ticketed for leaving the marked trails. I’ve started seeing signs posted about this in NY parks; while I have no problem with charging these knuckleheads for their rescue, it is very disturbing that huge swaths of these parks will be “off limits” if one has to remain on marked trails.
The thing is that their objective is to close all the trails entirely to the unenlightened masses that refuse to worship Gaia or are too poor to set aside vast acreage for environmental trusts.
Always enjoyed my rare small boat rides to see the Palisades, kinda of like approaching Kong Island if there was a mist.
Whatever happened to being able to explore?
