“Get a bigger piece of pipe to just go over your existing pipe, slide it down to the bend and pull to straighten while bracing the bottom part.”

That sounds the easiest and cheapest. Get a long enough pipe so you still have plenty of leverage - stand on the bed of a pickup. If you have or can rent a come-along (hand winch) that might help. Anchor it to the truck, nearby tree, etc.

I wonder if a bit of heat with a propane torch would help soften the bent pipe?

Shouldn’t need any heat on that light weight stuff. Retired Journeyman pipefitter here.
