Letterman hosted some really good music back then from Steve Winwood and Peter Gabriel and beyond. Letterman was THE SHOW to get on to promote your new album

I used to be a big fan. Went to see his Anniversary show on Hollywood and had a blast. Tom Hanks and stupid pet tricks. Stevie Ray Vaughn. It was too cool. Haven’t watched him for probably ten years though because he became mean-spirited and unfunny.
